While there are many different hair types, Luis has a few universal tips that he shares with all of his clients seeking healthy, well-groomed hair.

Love is in the Hair No matter the hair type, most of our clients have at least one thing they would change about their hair. Your best haircut is one that works with the type of hair that you have. Luis encourages his clients to embrace the gifts Mother Nature gave them.
Brush More Three to five minutes of brushing a day will stimulate blood circulation promoting hair growth. Brushing also distributes the natural oils from your scalp, moisturizing and protecting your hair. Many prefer a brush with a natural bristle, such as boar’s hair, for its gentleness and ability to absorb oil and lift dirt.
Wash Less The natural oils that your scalp produces are good for you. Most people wash their hair too frequently, missing out on the natural conditioning treatment their scalp is offering them. Also many shampoos, particularly those with sulfates, can exaggerate their drying effects. Detergents can actually make hair less manageable and cause hair to lose body. Luis can help you figure out the best cleansing routine for you based on your hair type, lifestyle and whether you use styling products.
Product As anyone who visits Swing can attest, we are not product pushers. That said, there are few items we think are well worth a mention. If you are styling short hair that is fine or thinning you want to avoid sticky gels – they separate the hair, enhancing the thinning appearance. We like Kevin Murphy's Easy Rider for flexible hold or Night Rider for firm hold. Both products provide control with pliable texture and volume with minimal shine.
Leave-in Conditioners will boost the moisturizing effects of your wash-out conditioner and can be used as a styling tool. Its effects are enhanced when you blow-dry your hair after application – the heat seals in the moisture. We like MOP’s Leave-in Conditioner – its plant derived moisturizers infuse hair with hydration and strength.
MOP’s Glisten line features a number of products that give weightless shine to tired hair – their drops, spray and pomade are well loved for their ability to impart a healthy glow without residue. Products that don’t feel like product and wash out with water.
